February 3, 2026, marks three years since the Norfolk Southern derailment changed our lives and our town forever. While much of the world has moved on, we at CeramSource, 

CeramFab, and WYG Refractories continue to navigate the aftermath of the disaster that occurred right outside "The Blue Building."

 

Operational Status & Our Commitment

We know many of you have asked: When will you be back?

The reality remains challenging. While site-wide restoration and soil removal were declared complete by the EPA and Norfolk Southern in late 2025, the impact on our specific facilities has been severe. We have been forced to keep our primary manufacturing operations shuttered due to the long-term contamination risks and the lingering stigma felt by customers and the community. 

However, we are fighting to save what we can. We are currently working to maintain our wholesale business through relocation, though our large-scale manufacturing remains beyond our current ability to restart in East Palestine.

A Heartfelt Thank You

As we look at East Palestine three years later, we remain inspired by the resilience of this town. We continue to thank the first responders and the neighbors who stood by us during the darkest days of 2023. Your kindness remains the foundation of our resolve.

We are not giving up. We will continue to provide updates as we find new ways to serve the industries that rely on our refractories and ceramic products.

11/9/23: Due to the recent tragic event in East Palestine, OH. and the ongoing cleanup of toxins around the property.  CeramFab is currently closed for business. CeramFab, located along the border between western PA and eastern OH, is a newly established manufacturing and fabricating operation associated with CeramSource, which has been successfully running its wholesale business of full lines of ceramic fiber and other related refractory insulation materials for more than 20 years. This website is still under ongoing construction for further improvement. The following categories listed give you a glimpse of what we will be doing in the near future.
